Dr. Williams was born in Detroit and was raised in Madison Heights, Michigan. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from The University of Michigan in Dearborn and then completed a four-year Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) degree at The Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine (Kent State University) in Cleveland, OH. As a freshman at OCPM he ranked #1 in his class and was awarded the Academic Half-Tuition Scholarship for this achievement. Dr. Williams was also awarded with the National Podiatric Medical Association Merit Scholarship before graduating in 1997.
Upon earning his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine, Dr. Williams completed a comprehensive three-year foot and ankle surgical residency in Houston, Texas. Rotations in both medicine and surgical sub-specialties enhanced his foot and ankle training. During residency Dr. Williams was privileged to work among many notable attending physicians, including the developer of the Endoscopic Plantar Fasciotomy (EPF) and the Endoscopic Decompression of Intermetatarsal Neuroma (E.D.I.N.) procedures, the President of the American Podiatric Medical Association and the President of the American College of Foot & Ankle Surgeons. He received extensive training in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery and has a special interest in bunion surgery, sports medicine, heel pain, and treatment of the lower extremity complications associated with diabetes. During his final year of residency, Dr. Williams was appointed as Chief Resident where he supervised a team of fourteen other foot and ankle surgical residents.
Following residency in Houston, Dr. Williams returned home to Michigan and began private practice at Professional Foot & Ankle Centers, PC in Davison and Lapeer.
Dr. Williams is Board Certified by the American Board of Foot & Ankle Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Foot & Ankle Surgeons (ACFAS). He is also a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association and the Michigan Podiatric Medical Association.
Dr. Williams serves as a teaching physician for six podiatric surgical residents at Genesys Regional Medical Center. He has been awarded the Genesys Regional Medical Center Podiatric Clinicians Recognition award in 2006 and the Podiatric Clinician of the Year award in 2007, 2009 and 2012. Dr. Williams is also a Podiatric Residency Examiner for the Genesys Regional Medical Center. Dr. Williams, in coordination with other physicians, strives to select the highest quality residents for the podiatric surgical residency at Genesys. Dr. Williams has been appointed to the Surgery Center at Health Park Medical Executive Committee and is the Lower Extremity Medical Director at the McLaren Wound Care Center in Flint. Dr. Williams has been affiliated with the McLaren Wound Care Center since 2003 where he is actively involved with diabetic wound care and limb salvage in collaboration with many other fine specialists.
Staff privileges for Dr. Williams include Genesys, McLaren, Lapeer and Hurley Medical Centers. He is also affiliated with The Surgery Center at Health Park in Grand Blanc and the McLaren Surgery & Endoscopy Center in Flint.
Dr. Williams resides in Clarkston with his wife Therese and twin daughters. In his free time, he enjoys water sports, snow skiing, vintage car shows, and fishing with his girls.
Dr. Hehemann was born and raised in Chagrin Falls, Ohio. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry from Kent State University and graduated Magna Cum Laude, with honors. He then completed his four-year Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine at The Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine (Kent State University) in Cleveland, Ohio. He maintained a 4.0 GPA for all four years of school and was awarded the Academic Half-Tuition Scholarship.
Upon earning his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine, Dr. Hehemann completed a three year foot and ankle surgical residency at the Cleveland Clinic and HealthSpan in Cleveland, Ohio. There, he had the privilege of training under many prominent physicians, including Dr. Mark Hardy, director of education of the Asia Pacific Society for foot and ankle surgeons, and Dr. Jordan Grossman, past president of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He was appointed Chief Resident in his third year of residency, and was in charge of coordination of all the residents in the program. He has received extensive training in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery, and has a special interest in bunion surgery, flat feet, and sports medicine.
After residency, Dr. Hehemann moved to Michigan to join Dr. Williams at Professional Foot and Ankle Centers. Staff privileges for him include Genesys, McLaren, Lapeer and Hurley Medical Centers. He is also affiliated with and performing out-patient procedures at Lapeer County Surgery Center in Lapeer, Surgery Center at Health Park in Grand Blanc, and the McLaren Surgery and Endoscopy Center in Flint.
Dr. Dave Hehemann was born and raised in Chagrin Falls, Ohio. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Case Western Reserve University. He went on to complete a Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine (D.P.M.) at the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine (now Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine). During his tenure in Podiatry College he was on the dean's list, earned multiple scholarships and received the Wally Wiseman Surgical Excellence Award. After receiving his medical degree he went on to complete his residency at Cleveland Clinic and Kaiser Permanente in Cleveland, Ohio. There, he had the privilege of training under many prominent physicians, including Dr. Mark Hardy, director of education of the Asia Pacific Society for foot and ankle surgeons, and Dr. Jordan Grossman, past president of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.
Upon completion of residency he moved to Kentucky to practice podiatry for nearly four years for Baptist Health in Madisonville. In the summer of 2016 he moved to Cleveland and worked in private practice. During his time in Cleveland he was part of the training committee for the Mercy Health Foot and Ankle Residency. In the spring of 2017 he was afforded the opportunity to join his brother Dr. Chris Hehemann which has been a goal of theirs since both earning a podiatry degree.
Dr. Dave Hehemann is board certified in both foot surgery and reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He is excited to be a part of the Professional Foot and Ankle Centers team and provides comprehensive conservative and surgical foot and ankle care. Special areas of interest include sports medicine and reconstructive foot and ankle surgery. When not practicing medicine he enjoys spending time with his family, skiing, mountain biking, and fishing.
After 35 years of practice, Dr. Lefever retired in December, 2015. He has defined what local health care means in this community. He is a life member of the Lapeer Optimist Club, a member of the Lapeer Elks Club, and a member of the board of directors at Lapeer County Bank and Trust Company. He lives in Lapeer with his wife Vicky. They have two sons and two grandsons. Ernie enjoys golfing, boating and gardening.
